Infra Australia appoints new board members

Infrastructure Australia has brought in two new board members to strengthen its team.

The Australian government has appointed former chairman of the Australian Productivity Commission, Peter Harris, as well as former Transurban chief financial officer Samantha Hogg to the organisation's board.

“I look forward to Mr Harris and Ms Hogg sharing their valuable expertise across infrastructure and public policy, to further strengthen the strategic advice we provide to governments on Australia’s key investment and reform opportunities,” said Infrastructure Australia chair Julieanne Alroe.

Prior to his time at the Australian Productivity Commission, Harris was Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy from 2009-12.

Hogg, meanwhile, is also chair of Tasmanian Irrigation, a non-executive director of Hydro Tasmania, MaxiTRANS Industries Limited and TasRail, as well as  a member of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency Board.

“We welcome these new board appointments alongside the extension of terms for Peter Corish and Gabrielle Trainor, and also acknowledge the outstanding work of outgoing Infrastructure Australia board members, Dr Colin Duffield, John Ellice-Flint and Dr Daniel Norton,” added Alroe.
