Global head of utilities David Wadham will relocate from London to Tokyo in January to support Ashurst’s Asian project practice.
Andy Fraiser, Ashurst’s global head of project finance, said: David’s relocation to Tokyo and the recent appointment of Matt Wood in Abu Dhabi are clear demonstrations that supporting Japanese and other Asian clients across the world is a strategic priority for us.”
Having been at Ashurst for nearly 13 years, Wadham specialises in in the acquisition, development and financing of power projects and has advised clients in Europe, the Middle East as well as North Africa.
He also supported Japanese and other Asian clients, including the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, EKF and 16 banks on the £2.6bn financing of the Moray East offshore windfarm in the UK.
Wadham said: "Ashurst enjoys strong relationships with many Japanese clients and I look forward to continuing to work with these clients on projects across EMEA. I also look forward to supporting these clients on the increasing number of renewables projects across Asia, including offshore wind.”
