Landesbetrieb Bau und Immobilien Hessen, on behalf of the State of Hesse, is considering the PPP model to deliver two laboratories and annexed facilities for state enterprise Hessiches Landeslabor as well as other state and regional bodies.
Under the plans, the authority is to procure partners to design, build, finance and operate two laboratories in Kassel for 30 years.
The laboratories, with a focus on animal health, food, agriculture, environment, water, pollution and radiation protection, will consist of 238 workstations, 109 office workplaces, 116 car parking spaces as well as extra parking for bicycle.
The authority expects to issue a contract notice on 18 December, followed in April 2019 by an invitation to bid for qualified respondents.
Under the current schedule, works should start in April 2021, with the project expected to be completed in 2024.
