Nigel Skinner will support the Japanese construction giant in delivering projects across Ireland, as the firm seeks to increase its presence in the Irish PPP market.
Kirk Taylor, head of development, said: “Ireland is an increasingly attractive market, with many exciting projects for us to bid for and having such a first-rate investment delivery professional leading our Irish operations will significantly enhance our prospects of success.”
Skinner’s work will focus on delivering projects in the social care, social housing and mixed-use regeneration sectors.
With over 30 years of exposure to the Irish market, Skinner has recently served as general manager for the special purpose vehicle (SPV) to deliver 14 new Primary Care Centres across the country.
Having spent the first 15 years of his career at Atkins, Skinner has also worked for five years as project director for the SPV to deliver the DBFO 1 Westlink project in Belfast and, most recently, served as bid director for Scotland’s £750m road infrastructure programme.
Skinner said: “I am excited to be taking up this opportunity to work with Kajima in Ireland. With a market holding so many opportunities, I very much look forward to leading on the expansion of Kajima’s operations across Ireland."
