A15 risk causes team to pull out

The risk allocation in the Dutch A15 highway project has caused a consortium to withdraw its tender.

The consortium consisting of BAM, Heijmans and TBI has pulled out of the ViA15 project near Nijmegen “based on the information provided in the tender documents regarding the technical complexity and the contractual conditions, in relation to the risk allocation”.

ViA15 is a design, build, finance, maintain contract covering the A15 at Nijmegen over a length of 12km and the connection to the A12 highway, creating a direct connection between the port of Rotterdam and Germany.

A request for qualification for the scheme was issued in June, following an industry day in April that had seen strong interest in the project.
