Cornwall Council is seeking expressions of interest from strategic partners for the development, delivery and operation of extra-care housing. A contract notice is now expected on 8 January 2019 and the authority will confirm the timeline upon its release.
As previously reported, Cornwall commenced market sounding in the summer ahead of a contract notice that was initially expected in October. This new PIN advises potential respondents to register to receive an alert to the contract notice.
The project is to be divided into three lots: West, Mid and East. In each region a partner will finance, design, construct and operate 250 extra-care housing units by an initial period of 2025.
Under the framework agreement the partner will also provide one or more services on a “pick and mix” basis to other economic entities that are developing other extra-care schemes across Cornwall.
It is anticipated that this will be a framework agreement through which contracting authorities can call-off and the strategic partner or partners would be appointed to provide services across Cornwall (Lot 1, 2 and 3). It is also anticipated that the framework agreement will be made available to non-contracting authorities.
The services may include:
- where developers across Cornwall are seeking housing management and care and support services;
- where developers and housing providers are seeking a care and support services;
- where investors are seeking developers, housing management and care and support services.
