NAB hires SMBC infra expert in UK

National Australia Bank (NAB) has appointed a former SMBC head of transport to head up its corporate finance work in Europe.

Tylor Hartwell has been appointed general manager and head of client coverage and corporate  finance for Europe.

Previously, Hartwell was head of transport and telecoms at SMBC in Europe and will remain based in London.

He has also worked for WestLB in London and prior to that worked at private equity firms in Australia and has built up strong experience in the infrastructure sector.

“Today’s finance and infrastructure marketplace is unrecognisable from when I started, particularly as we watch the development of environmental and green bonds, and see the growing impact of technology in our lives," he said. "Our clients expect us deliver more, and I look forward to supporting them, and NAB, to grow."

“Our customers are increasingly looking globally for investment opportunities – particularly in infrastructure, and we have the expertise, relationships, and global insights in key markets and sectors to support them,” added NAB general manager and head of London branch, John McClusky.
