A spokesperson for Rotorua Lakes Council told Partnerships Bulletin that a Trility-led consortium is the preferred bidder for the Rotorua Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Consisting of Trility, Fulton Hogan and Stantec, the team will design, build and finance the plant under a 25-year contract.
The spokesperson added: “There will still be lengthy contract negotiations and we don't expect to sign until a month or two into the New Year.”
The consortium beat a rival bid from a team comprising Broadspectrum, Cadagua, Jacobs and Spartan Construction.
A separate team, consisting of Fletchers, Suez and Beca, withdrew from the procurement process after being shortlisted.
Morrison Low, Lane Neave and Mott MacDonald are advising the council on the project, which it launched in September 2017.
