French port concession launched

A commune on the east coast of Corsica has issued a port concession notice.

Ville de Sari-Solenzara is seeking partners to design, build, finance and operate its port for 35 years.

Under the €130m contract, the partner will demolish existing buildings and conduct extension works, for an estimated investment of €26.2m.

The authority is hoping to establish a joint venture in which it owns between 34% and 49%, with the winner retaining at least 51%.

A site visit of the port, currently with a capacity of 350 vessels, will also take place at a date and time to be set by the authority.

Interested parties have until 2 January 2019 to submit responses.
