The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects, on behalf of the Ministry of Public Works, is due to sign the contract for the Umm Al Hayman Wastewater Project with WTE Wassertechnik and International Financial Advisors.
Appointed in December last year, the German-Kuwaiti consortium will deliver a wastewater treatment plant with an initial capacity of 500,000 m3/day which could be expanded by an additional 200,000 m3/day.
The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects launched a request for qualifications in May 2015 for partners to design, build, finance, operate, maintain and transfer the project under a 27.5-year contract.
The authority has shortlisted a total of five teams following the pre-qualification stage, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and local investors.
