The 30-year project involves the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a cancer centre in the northern part of the region. The project is part of an initiative by BC authorities to increase the access to cancer care for local residents and offer treatment services close to home.
The facilities will include a 4,200sm building for radiation treatment and a chemotherapy unit. The new centre will be located on the Prince George Regional Hospital site. Construction on the building is finish in 2012.
Plenary Health (Plenary Group, PCL Constructors Westcoast, CEI Architecture Planning Interiors, Johnson Controls Limited Partnership) beat off two consortia to the project.
