EoI for NSW's largest housing PPP

New South Wales (NSW) in Australia will launch a request for expressions of interest (EoI) for the state's biggest social housing PPP in January.

The state government will seek EoIs for the Airds Bradbury renewal housing project, which supports the building of communities rather than just the infrastructure, according to NSW Finance Minister Greg Pearce.

"The 30 year programme will transform 1,470 dilapidated public housing units into around 2,000 21st century homes provided as a mix of social housing, affordable housing and private dwellings adjoining the Georges River Reserve."

He said the PPP would deliver the finance, design, refurbishment, construction, maintenance and community sales development for the project.

The project will include the construction of 1,100 new homes, with 300 set aside for social housing, new road entrances and improvements to the local shopping centre.

Housing NSW has finalised an integrated master plan called a Concept Plan. The Concept Plan has been on public exhibition and is currently being reviewed by Campbelltown City Council, and is expected to be approved by the end of 2011.
