South West Hub signs

The Scottish Futures Trust has signed the South West Scotland Hub deal.

Joint venture firm Hub South West Scotland has been established between private partner Alliance Community Partnerships (comprising investor Equitix and contractors Kier and Galliford Try) and six local authorities, three health boards, emergency services and other public bodies in the region.

The Hub company will invest in new public infrastructure across Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Dumfries & Galloway.

“The formation of the South West Hubco will facilitate the creation of new employment and training opportunities for local companies in challenging economic times,” said Nick Parker, chief operating officer of Equitix and a director at Alliance Community Partnerships.

All five Scottish Hub deals have now been signed, with a projected £1.5bn of investment in community-based infrastructure to be delivered over the next 10 years.
