Danish pension fund signs PPP deal

A large Danish pension fund has inked its first deal to fund a PPP.

The new deal will fund the construction of a hospital wing in the east of the country.

IndustriensPension is to fund the construction of a new hospital wing at Naestved Hospital in the east of the country. The contract requires the construction and operation of a new radiotherapy unit at the hospital. The project will cost the fund around €110m and is aiming to be completed by 2015.

Infrastructure and PPPs have been growing in popularity in Denmark for some time.

Earlier this year a number of Danish pension funds partnered and released a report advocating more investment in PPPs.
