New port PPP mooted in India

Another new port PPP has been proposed in India.

Kernakata’s minister for Textile and Ports, Baburao Chinchansoor, said that a new port would be developed at Honnavar at a cost of $97m. The project will be completed through a PPP and comes on top of a number of new other recent PPP port announcements.

The government recently announced that it has a $146m loan sanctioned from the Asian Development Bank for the development of existing ports at Mangalore, Udupi and Karwar.

According to the Minister for Textile and Ports, Baburao Chinchansoor, the tender for the Honnavar project is likely to be released in December.
