Cardiff plans convention centre

Cardiff County Council has published a prior information notice seeking market interest in the delivery of a new international conference centre, exhibition centre and indoor arena.

The Welsh capital is calling for written submissions from experienced organisations indicating, among other things, their interest in the project and favoured delivery, funding and procurement models.

It is open to a wide range of options, including privately financed solutions such as design, build, finance and operate.

The project forms part of the council’s corporate plan for 2013-17 and is seen as key to developing and attracting high value business activity in Cardiff.

Interested prospective contractors have been invited to submit responses to the council by 29 November 2013.
