Philippines to launch new road PPPs

The Philippines is planning three new highway PPPs, valued at $1.4bn.

The Department of Public Works and Highways has now scheduled the bidding of the contracts for the Laguna Lakeshore expressway Dike; phase 1 of the Central Luzon link expressway (CLLEX); and the Calamba-Los Baños expressway.

As part of the plans, the tender for the Laguna Lakeshore expressway deal will be issued by the middle of next year and will include the construction of a 41.54km, four-lane road dike including bridges and pumping stations.

In addition, the first phase of the CLLEX from Tarlac to Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, and the Calamba-Los Baños expressway are currently undergoing engineering works but will be considered for PPP.
