Consultant sought for Kenya bridge

The Government of Kenya has launched expressions of interest (EoIs) for a transaction adviser for the development of a new bridge PPP.

The adviser is being sought for the second Nyali bridge project, which is being built near Mombasa under a design, build, finance, maintain and operate contract.

Consultants will play specific roles under the scope of service, which will include legal, environmental and social and technical consultancy. The expected period of the consultancy will last 19 months.

The legal consultant will undertake due diligence of all legal and contractual issues associated with the project and advise on risk allocation and selection of a suitable PPP arrangement. The environmental and social consultant will conduct a comprehensive review of the environmental characteristics of the project and the surrounding environment, while the technical consultant will provide all technical inputs required for preparing the PPP transaction.

Deadline for submission of EoIs is 19 November 2013 at 1600 hours Kenyan local time.
