Three shortlisted for Nevada highway

Three teams have been shortlisted for Nevada’s $1.5bn Project Neon highway P3.

As reported by PPP Bulletin last month, the shortlist for the project had been due this month and now includes the following firms:

  • Las Vegas NEON ventures, includingLas Vegas Paving Corp. and Macquarie Capital Group
  • Kiewit -Meridiam NEON partners, including Kiewit Development Co. and Meridiam Infrastructure
  • NEON Mobility Group including, ACS Infrastructure Development, Fengate Capital Management and Star America Fund GP

Spanish infrastructure firm, Cinta Infraestructuras has been the only team not to adavnce to the next stage of the tender process.

The teams now have until next year to submit their proposals before the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) selects a winner in November 2014.

One selected, the preferred bidder will team will oversee the construction of a one-mile, high occupancy vehicle (HOV) bridge connecting the I-15 to the US 95 highway, creating a new HOV interchange.

The project will also include the development of the Charleston I-15 interchange.

Also as reported by PPP Bulletin earlier this month, NDOT is seeking to amend the state’s existing P3 law to legalize toll pricing in the state.
