Ukraine port PPPs on track

Reforms in the Ukrainian port industry are underway and will encourage a series of new PPPs.

Speaking at a recent infrastructure forum the Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said the potential of investment into the Ukrainian transport industry is worth billions of dollars.

"In order to realise our transit potential, develop the economy and improve social standards, Ukraine is open for public-private partnerships, and private investment into transport infrastructure," he said.

Speaking about Ukrainian ports, the deputy premier pointed out that the reform in this area was going on schedule. The negotiations with investors on all ports are underway.

Vilkul stressed Ukraine's importance as an important transportation hub linking Europe and Asia. The minister said that the development of the country's transport sector will contribute to the expansion of relations between European states.
