One firm bids on Brazil rail deal

Brazil’'s São Paulo state has only received one bid for its Metro Line six rail PPP.

The consortium ‘'Move São Paulo'’, including Odebrecht, Queiroz Galvão and UTC Participações was the only team to respond to the tender which was issued for the third time in September.

The state is now evaluating the proposals from the team, before a decision is made on the next stage of the procurement.

Prior to the October launch, a first re-launch was issued in May following changes to the documents from the original tender in February.

Metro Line Six, or the Orange Line, covers 16km between Brasilandia and San Joaquin stations, with 15 stations in total. It will connect FAAP and PUC universities as well as the Liberdade neighbourhood.
