Three prequalify for Philippines road

Three groups have pre-qualified for the Cavite-Laguna expressway project, with a fourth being given extra time to prove its capability.

Metro Pacific Investments, Team Orion of Ayala, and Optimal Infrastructure have all passed the prequalification stage, while AlloyMTD Capital has been given more time to provide documents to show its construction experience and to specify a design contractor.

The project involves the construction of a 47km highway connecting the Manila-Cavite and South Luzon expressways and is one of the biggest projects under the government’s PPP programme.

A pre-bid conference will be held on 19 November. Pre-qualified bidders will have one-on-one discussions from 25-29 November.

The submission of technical and financial bids is scheduled on 20 January 2014.
