Third privately funded schools tender launched

The Education Funding Agency (EFA) has published the tender for the third batch of Priority School Building Programme projects to be delivered via private finance.

Covering 12 schools in the north-west, the OJEU notice is seeking contractors to design, build, finance and maintain the new buildings.

Construction is expected to take two years, while the operational phase will last 25 years from the service commencement date of the final school to be completed in this batch.

The estimated value of the project is between £80-£120m.

The tender notice follows the recent bidders’ day which was held at the end of October in one of the schools due to be rebuilt under the programme.

Interested parties have until 9am on 9 December to submit their prequalification questionnaire.
