Olympic Park housing scheme launched

The London Legacy Development Corporation has called for contractors to show their interest in a new 1,500-property partnership deal on the former Olympic Park site.

Plans have been issued for the scheme on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the areas of East Wick and Sweetwater in east London, which will include new housing alongside commercial and recreation spaces.

The scheme covers the planning, funding, designing, procurement, construction, completion, marketing, management, and disposal of approximately 1,500 units of residential accommodation, as well as ancillary infrastructure.

Under the plans, the development partner will work with the London Legacy Development Corporation for 10 years and the partnership will benefit both parties through the growth in housing values over time.

Interested parties have until midday on 9 January 2014 to submit their prequalification questionnaires.
