EFA design boss heads to Aecom

The head of the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA) design division is to take up a role with technical consultancy firm Aecom.

Mairi Johnson, who has been in charge of the design element of the EFA’s Priority School Building Programme since it was established, will lead Aecom’s global education team from January next year.

“The UK has always been a world leader in driving innovation for education and having someone with the experience and quality of Mairi lead our global education team will greatly enhance our integrated offer,” said Jason Prior, global chief executive of buildings and places at Aecom.

Johnson had been at the EFA’s predecessor, Partnerships for Schools, since 2008 and had been in charge of design for the Building Schools for the Future programme.
