Pakistan province to reform PPP laws

The province of Punjab in Pakistan has created a new committee to reform and enhance its current PPP legislation.

The committee will oversee reforms of the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Act and the Punjab Public Private Partnership Act (PPRA), including a review of the legislation, and propose amendments to make procurement more efficient.

Included in these changes will be reforms of the rules surrounding unsolicited bids for future deals where government equity is involved.

Also as part of the new plan, the committee is expected to recommend the incorporation of consultancy rules into the PPRA legislation.
