Philippines seeking proposals for ticketing PPP

A request for financial proposals is to be issued for the Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS) PPP in the Philippines.

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) will issue the proposals to the five pre-qualified firms on Monday, following completion of the fast-tracked technical evaluation of the deal.

Following the issuance of the request, each project will now be evaluated over the next few weeks.

AF Consortium, led by Ayala Corporation and infrastructure giant Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Comworks Consortium E-Trans Solutions Joint Venture, Megawide-Suyen-Eurolink Consortium and SM Consortium, led by mall magnate Henry Sy, were all prequalified last month.

Like many projects in the country, the project has been hit with delays since being announced last year. The project was among a series of others which were approved by the National Economic and Development Authority last month.
