Greece issues fish market PPP

A tender has been issued to develop the new Central Fish Market in Athens under a PPP model.

Greece’s Central Market and Fisheries Organisation SA (OKAA SA) has issued the expressions of interest request to develop the project, which has a value of €13m under a 25-year contract.

The OKAA is implementing a new strategic plan, which will include a central fish market to be developed next to existing meat and vegetable markets. The combined structure will form the first food park in Greece.

The new market has been designed to ensure common conditions of competition, the income of fishermen, the Greek public and OKAA, whilst reducing household spending.

Submissions of interest for the plans must be received by November 10.
