Winner for Yorks PF2 schools

A preferred bidder has been chosen for the privately financed batch of Priority School Building Programme schools in Yorkshire.

Laing O’Rourke has been provisionally appointed by the Education Funding Agency – subject to a 10-day cooling off period – to deliver the seven schools in the batch.

Valued at £120m, the scheme will see Laing O’Rourke design, build, finance and maintain the schools under the PF2 model, with funding anticipated to be provided from the aggregator vehicle – which is scheduled to reach financial close soon.

Laing O’Rourke beat off competition from Bam Construction and Morgan Sindall to the Yorkshire contract.
