The Alstom-led Mobiliège team, which includes Bam PPP, PGGM and DG Infra, has won the €320m contract to develop, finance and maintain the 17km Liege tram line 1 in the Walloon region.
The Regional Walloon Transport Company chose the team ahead of the LegiaExpress consortium, led by Bombardier and Vinci.
Signing of the deal is now scheduled to take place in spring next year, with the new line coming into operation in 2018.
In addition to civil works, the contract will include rolling stock, track, electrification, signalling and maintenance facilities but does not cover provision of fare collection equipment.
