Philippines prepares 6 more PPPs

The Philippines PPP Center is planning to put six more projects forward for approval this month.

Executive director Cosette Canilao has confirmed that the deals will be put before the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee in October so that they can be approved for tender.

“The PPP pipeline looks good and it looks like we will be able to achieve the targets that we set by the end of President Aquino’s term,” Canilao said. President Aquino leaves office in 2016.

Although she did not list the deals to be presented to the NEDA board, a number of rail projects are likely to be among the proposals.

Last month, the NEDA board confirmed that two of the country’s most high profile PPP deals – the LRT Line 4 and LRT Line 6 projects – would be rolled out
