German city tenders educational centre

A city in Germany has launched a tender for the construction of a school centre.

The city of Hanover is seeking for a company to build and finance a primary school with a sports hall and day care centre.

Works for the project involve the demolition of the existing building, which dates from the 1950s, to build the new centres that will be located in a net area of 6,200sq m.

The tender comes almost two months after the city issued a prior information notice for the project.

Under the terms of the 20-year contract, the concessionaire will provide 50% of the project costs including the interim construction financing. The school centre plus the sports hall is expected to be completed by 2018 and the day care centre in 2020.

Interested parties have until 26 November to obtain the procurement documents and the deadline to respond to the tender is 3 December.
