Philippines tenders train PPP

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) of Philippines is seeking companies for a new $1.4bn LRT project

The DOTC, through the Philippines PPP unit, has launched the LRT Line 6 project, a 19km light rail that will connect the cities of Bacoor and Dasmarinas along seven stations.

The Line 6 project will involve the private sector’s participation in the financing, design, build, operation and maintenance of the LRT located in the province of Cavite.

The project aims to improve passenger mobility and reduce the volume of vehicular traffic in the Cavite area that is experiencing rapid growth. The new LRT is expected to serve 200.000 passengers, 45% of Cavite’s population.

Interested parties have until March 4 to submit pre-qualification documents.

In October the Philippines PPP Centre revealed is planning to launch six more projects including a LRT Line 4.
