Adviser appointed to Irish sovereign fund

Ireland's National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) has awarded a contract to advise on infrastructure investments.

Analysys Mason will provide investment advisory services to the NTMA as controller and manager of the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF).

Under the mandate tendered in June, the telecom specialists will provide technical and commercial due diligence in respect of investment opportunities in fibre optic cable projects from Ireland to continental Europe. The NTMA may require the consultant to undertake additional services.

Services include technical assessment of construction plans, timetables and key terms of construction contracts in respect of the entirety of the cable system under consideration, which may include sub-sea cables, landing stations, terrestrial backhaul and other ancillary infrastructure.

Analysys Mason is also advising the Department of Communications, Energy & Natural Resources on the National Broadband Plan.

Meanwhile, the NTMA's National Development Finance Agency has awarded additional advisory contracts for the Social Housing PPP Programme.
