Adviser sought for African road

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is procuring advisers to conduct a study for the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project.

ECOWAS expects the selected partner to conduct a PPP viability assessment, evaluating the financial structure and relevant documentation for the model.

The study will also focus on the environmental and social impact of the project, which entails the construction of a 1,028km six-lane carriageway highway between Abidjan in Ivory Coast and Lagos in Nigeria, via Accra, Lome and Cotonou.

Under the plans, the partner will also provide a detailed engineering design of the PPP and financial analysis.

The Africa Development Fund and the European Development Fund are contributing towards the financing of the study of the project, whose bidding documents should be released by February 2017.
