Herts mulls innovative property delivery

Hertfordshire County Council is considering creating a new property development model to take advantage of its “substantial portfolio” of surplus land.

The authority is carrying out a soft market testing exercise  o consider what options are open to it for the new model, which might include  “partnering with an appropriate company that has development and funding expertise”.

Among the outcomes of the soft market testing exercise, Hertfordshire wants parties to outline and generate initial views on development deliver routes and potential delivery strategy, as well as explaining the potential solutions that are available to it.

A soft market testing questionnaire is available until midday on 18 January 2017 and meetings with those who have returned questionnaires will be held from 25-27 January.

In September, the council signed a PPP contract with waste specialist Veolia for a new incinerator.
