The Mass Rapid Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has awarded the contract to the BSR joint venture, according to local reports.
The consortium, comprising BTS Group Holdings, Sino-Thai Engineering & Construction and Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding, will build and operate the infrastructure in the Thai capital Bangkok.
Under the plans, the private partners are expected to terminate construction works by 2020 and operate the lines for at least 30 years while the MRTA deals with land-related costs.
According to the agency, the BAHT56.7bn ($1.59bn) Pink line (Khae Rai - Min Buri) will extend for 34.5km across 30 stations in order to ease congestion in the northern part of the city.
The BAHT54.7bn ($1.53bn) yellow line (Lat Phrao-Samrong) is set to cover 30.4km in 23 stations which will be key interconnecting points between the Blue, Grey, Orange and Green lines.
The PPP has a total value of BAHT111,49bn ($3.12bn).
