NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet has confirmed that the expressions of interest process will open early next year for Phase 2 of the SAHF. The first briefing with the community and private sectors was held on Wednesday at NSW Parliament House.
The second phase is to deliver an additional 1,200 new houses.
During this part of the procurement process, the government will assess opportunities for innovative partnerships with community housing providers, financiers, developers and other organisations that deliver access to accommodation, property and tenancy management, tailored support coordination services and performance and data reporting.
In March, five organisations won contracts to deliver new social housing projects under the first phase.
Tenants began moving into houses funded by phase one in May this year. The $1.1bn SAHF was established using seed capital invested in the government’s investment arm, NSW Treasury Corporation.
