Australia ‘improving evidence-based approach’

Infrastructure Australia is looking to improve its evidence-based approach to provide information and data to the public to justify the delivery of new and existing infrastructure.

Chief executive Phillip Davies told Partnerships Bulletin that the agency is focused on developing an evidence-based solution to explaining the need for new infrastructure to the public.

“What we are looking at now is much greater clarity about the service levels we are trying to deliver,” he added.

“It is about providing better information to the public and clearly articulating to the public the problems we are trying to solve.”

He said that a major piece of this puzzle that is still missing is post-completion reviews, so that Infrastructure Australia is able to see the long-term outcomes of investment decisions.
