Under the proposed €100m loan for research, development and innovation (RDI), the EIB would finance the company’s investments in research, development and innovation (RDI) in the water treatment, renewable energy, services and infrastructure sectors, as well as in digitalisation.
The project, with an approximate cost of €200m, is expected to entail the construction of experimental test plants in the areas of renewable energy (wind and solar).
In 2015, the EIB granted Spanish company Abengoa a €125m loan to support its research, development and innovation (R&D) projects.
Meanwhile, Globalvia has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in the A23 Beira Interior (Scutvias) motorway in Portugal. The transaction was carried out in three phases during 2017.
The Spanish firm said this acquisition is part of the company's expansion strategy, which is focused on both acquiring new assets in OECD countries and increasing and consolidating its shareholding in the strategic assets of its current portfolio.
