Macquarie Atlas Roads CEO to step down

Macquarie Atlas Roads (MQA) has revealed that its CEO is to step down.

Peter Trent will end his eight-year tenure in the role at the end of January 2018 to join a senior role at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets.

Jeffrey Conyers, chairman at Macquarie Atlas Roads International, said: “Peter leaves MQA with a quality asset portfolio and strong balance sheet, creating a robust platform for its future growth and success. On behalf of the MQA directors, we sincerely thank Peter for his contribution to the success of MQA and wish him the very best for the future.”

The board has appointed Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation CEO James Hooke to succeed Trent as of February 2018.

Hooke joined Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets in New York in 2007 and has served as CEO for Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation since 2009.

Upon joining the company, Hooke managed a portfolio of infrastructure businesses across North America with a market capitalisation of over $7.5bn.

Hooke said: “I am very pleased to take on the role as CEO of MQA. I will be joining a company with a portfolio of high-quality infrastructure assets and with a proud history of growing security holder value. I look forward to working with the boards and team to ensure a smooth management transition. I hope to continue to pursue the strategies implemented to date which have contributed to MQA's ongoing success.”
