French education PPP launched

A French region has issued a contract notice for an education PPP.

The Île-de-France region is looking for a partner to design, build and finance the Jules Ferry high school in the Satory area of Versailles.

The partner will also provide partial or complete maintenance and operation services for 23 years.

Works for the €106m contract involve the demolition of existing buildings across the 8,000sq m military field to deliver the school, with a capacity of 2,300 pupils.

The authority issued a separate contract notice last week for two other schools near Paris, to be operational by September 2021.

The school under the second contract is expected to be in use by September 2022.

Interested parties have until 16 January to submit responses for both contracts.
