Astris Finance lands in Spain

The independent transaction advisory firm Astris Finance has opened an office in Madrid and has appointed a new vice-president.

The new office will strengthen the presence of Astris in the Iberian peninsula, where it has recently closed two refinancings for renewable energy deals in Portugal and where it is currently working on a toll road refinancing in Spain.

Astris will also look at the Plan Extraordinario de Inversion en Carreteras, a PPP road programme announced by Spanish President Mariano Rajoy in July, and the renewable energy sector in Spain, as well as give support to those Spanish clients active in the Latin American market.

Juan Fabregas, former vice-president of BBVA's infrastructure and energy team, has been appointed vice-president at Astris's new office in Madrid’s. Prior to BBVA, he worked at Crédit Agricole CIB in London, where he closed deals in the UK, Europe and Middle East.

Astris is expected to complete its Madrid team by the end of the year.
