Advisers sought for Algeria energy plans

Algeria is seeking advisers to deliver technical assistance for a renewable energy programme.

With a maximum budget of €8.6m, the European Union has tendered for consultants in Europe on behalf of the Algerian government. The work will involve mainly electricity and energy efficiency projects.

The technical assistance will include developing a strategy for renewable energy and promotion of energy efficiency, planning and integrating solar and wind farms into the interconnected network and distribution of low-power electricity production from renewable energies, amongst others. Expertise in PPP contracts is required as part of the tender.   

Parties have until 1 January to submit applications.    

Following the first call for tender, an invitation to tender will be sent to qualified teams on 4 February, with the contract scheduled to be awarded on 29 May.
