Limerick City and County Council and Cork County Council, in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland, expect to issue a contract notice on 12 December for multidisciplinary technical consultancy services for the N/M20 Cork to Limerick Road Improvement Scheme.
The services required under the €800,000 contract include:
- Phase 1(Concept and Feasibility)
- Phase 2 (Options Selection)
- Phase 3 (Design and Environmental Evaluation)
- Phase 4 (Statutory Processes) of Transport Infrastructure Ireland Project Management Guidelines (2017), the associated Transport Infrastructure Ireland Project Appraisal Guidelines (2017), the government's Public Spending Code and DTTaS Common Appraisal Framework 2016.
Under the plans, the client will provide a project office in Limerick and a separate landowner meeting facility in County Cork. The consultant will provide full time staff to deal with scheme development and landowner liaison.
Given the size of this scheme and the nature and complexity of the assessments required, the contracting authority will consider expressions of interest from joint venture teams.
Last month, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar confirmed the motorway will be included in the National Investment Plan, which is to be released by the end of 2017.
The fifth annual Financing Irish Infrastructure conference will return to Dublin on 11 December. For more information, click here.
