New Brisbane head as Aecom targets Queensland

Engineering giant Aecom has appointed a senior infrastructure executive to lead its Brisbane office.

The US firm has appointed Renaye Peters, former Brisbane Airport and Leighton Contractors executive, to lead the office effective immediately.

Aecom said it is actively pursuing a number of significant transit-related infrastructure projects in the pipeline for South East Queensland, including Cross River Rail, Brisbane Live Stadium and Brisbane Metro.

As the director for South East Queensland, Peters will be responsible for overseeing a team of around 700 multi-disciplinary professionals and driving the regional growth strategy, reporting to North West Australian regional managing director David Hogarth.

Hogarth commented: “For many years Renaye has been a client of Aecom and we are delighted that she has now chosen to lead our Brisbane team. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, which will be critical in helping Aecom grow along with the Queensland’s economy, while maintaining a focus on client service excellence.”

Meanwhile, counting continues in the Queensland election with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk expected to form a government, with the make-up expected to be decided this week.
