Bangladesh signs housing PPP

The Government of Bangladesh has signed a contract for the provision of new high-rise apartments in Dhaka.

Private partners BNG Global Holding, Multiplex Holdings and Jiangxi Consortium Engineering have signed the deal with the Bangladesh government to deliver 85 multi-storey high-rise buildings that will be provided for low and middle-income residents.

Under the agreement, the construction of these flats will be completed within the next four years and Malaysian company BNG will finance the construction.

Bangladesh is ramping up its PPP delivery, and in November it launched a tender for advisers to support a planned port PPP scheme.

The country's PPP agency also recently won a Silver award in the Government PPP Promoter of the Year category at the PPP Awards in Australia.
