Italian energy PPP awarded

A town in southern Italy has awarded a contract for an energy PPP.

Comune di Lizzano, in the Puglia region, has chosen Selettra to plan, finance and conduct works to expand the town’s public lighting network.

The firm will also be responsible for the supply of energy as well as the maintenance and operation of the network.

The €6m contract will run for a 20-year term.

Launched in April this year, the project has suffered a number of delays after the authority postponed the deadline for the receipt of bids.
