FC for £12m Lift deal

A new primary care centre project under the Lift programme has reached financial close and will start construction early next year.

Community Health Partnerships (CHP) and the eLift Cumbria Liftco have agreed terms for the new centre on the site of the former Alfred Barrow School in Barrow in Furness.

The facility will house several GP surgeries, community and children’s health services in one building.

ESH Construction will commence construction on the site in January 2018, with completion due for spring 2019.

The project is one of the first delivered since the 2013 healthcare reforms and CHP described reaching financial close as “testament to the persistence and commercial solutions brought by eLift Cumbria”.

eLift Cumbria was the first Liftco to bring a deal to financial close under the Express Lift programme back in 2012.
