Three in for NZ wastewater PPP

A town in New Zealand has shortlisted three consortia for a wastewater PPP.

Rotorua Lakes Council selected the following teams to compete for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the Rotorua Wastewater Treatment Plant under a 25-year concession:
  • Trility/Stantec/Fulton Hogan
  • Broadspectrum/Cadagua/Jacobs/Spartan Construction
  • Fletchers/Suez/Beca

A spokesperson for the authority told Partnerships Bulletin that two other teams, consisting of Veolia/UGL and Fitzroy Engineering/Mena Water, did not pre-qualify.

The council will now issue a request for proposals on 12 February, with responses due on 31 May.

Project support is being provided by Morrison Low, legal advice from Lane Neave and technical support from Mott MacDonald.
